Brief descriptions of the positions that may be available are as follows: Director - Manages all aspects of the Center, including staff recruitment and administration, marketing, public relations, financial administration, quality control and physical facility, parent relations and maintaining licensing and safety records. Assistant Director - Assists the Director in all aspects of managing the Center in addition to his/her regular teaching duties. Teacher - Responsible for providing a home-like environment to the Center's children. Plans and implements curriculum and classroom programs. Instructs and supervises children. Ensures parent issues are appropriately addressed. Teacher's Aide - Assists in the daily management and supervision of a classroom and children. Cook - Plans and prepares snacks and meals; responsible for keeping inventories of all kitchen items, and listing orders. Keeps the kitchen clean, and ensures health and safety standards are met. Usually a part-time position unless combined with the position of a teacher's aide and/or van driver. Van Driver - Drives van to transport children to and from Step Ahead to nearby elementary schools over specified routes according to assigned time schedule. This is a part-time position. Must have a valid California driver's license for at least 5 years with a clean record.
